2019 Celebration of Scholars

At the 4th Annual Celebration of Scholars on June 5, family, friends, scholarship donors, and community members gathered to celebrate and support the newest group of MPS Foundation scholarship recipients.  Thirteen scholarships totaling more than $100,000 were awarded to 22 students.  They are:

Anderson Family Scholarship: Nur Azizah Rahimuddin, Washington High School of Information Technology

April Swick Memorial Scholarship: Yareli Suarez, Riverside University High School and Mirian Vargas, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School

Bernice K. Rose Scholarship:

Seania Hampton, Milwaukee Marshall High School

Dione Javius, Alexander Hamilton High School

Mia Rimmer, Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School

Isaac Wells, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Medical Staff Scholarship: Leah Nyholm, Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School

Marquette University Panhellenic Association and Interfraternity Council Scholarship: Jocelyn Gonzalez and Elsa Sanchez, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School

MPS Proud Scholarship: Abdullahi Abdi, Riverside University High School

MPS Public Scholars Scholarship: Zakaria Brema, Riverside University High School

Patricia Cadorin Women in Leadership Honorary Scholarship: Malyun Ali, Lynde & Harry Bradley Technology and Trade School

Petrovic Nature & Art Trust Scholarship: Matao Casarez, Riverside University High School

Shirley Kersey Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers: Katheryn Saavedra-Ballestreros, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School

Tabak Family Scholarship:

Tad Dugan Memorial Scholarship: Sierra Richardson, Riverside University High School and Alyssa Eske, Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School

William O. Cory Memorial Scholarship: Merub Irfan, Washington High School of Information Technology

In addition, special classroom grant awards were presented to teachers Kim Davis and Catherine Paprocki of Riverside University High School and Michael Chay and John Kish of Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School.
